In Mangalore region, devotees worships ‘Gods’ as well as ‘Daiva’s. `Kachukujumba’ is such a ‘Daiva’ is worshipped here. It is known as Panja is the birth place of this Daiva. It is a very powerful and the main daiva of Ullakulu Dynasty.
In the past, the priests had to go through a difficult hill to pray at the original site of Banthamalai, where their eternal prayer spontaneously arose in the place of the prostration of Swami Panchalingeshwara. It is believed that the shrine was later known as the Sadariva Panchalingeshwara Temple.
Another unique example of the secular tradition of the
shrine is that of the former claw-jawed elite and the young elf of the claw. In
a quarrel for power, a young Muslim warrior named Pilikunja loyally defended
the young king and betrayed the crowned sword crowns. The king, impressed by
his kingly devotion, insisted that his possessions, which he later belonged to,
belonged to the Muslim warrior Pilikunja. Form that time, the Muslim religion people of this village are being
brought to the shrine with the sword and shield of honor, as a symbol of the
devotion and godliness of this Muslim dynasty.
This tradition is the object of Hindu Muslim consensus and is an ideal heritage for the state. after the Brahmakalashotsava in 2012, there has been ‘Daily Anna Santharpne’ served who come to the this temple and devotees are very satisfied and enlightening their life with the blessings of Sri Sadhashiva Devaru and Sri Panchalingeshwara.
