Bisle Ghat - The Nature's Paradise


Bisle reserve forest lasts along the border of Hassan and Dakshina Kannada districts of Karnataka is a must visit tourist place in the monsoon! The village at the start of the reserve forest is also known by the name of Bisle. Through the forest there is a road connecting Kukke Subrahmanya to Sakaleshpura is shortest route for travelling to Bangalore from Kukke Subrahmanya. The 30km stretch passes through the reserve forest is really mind blowing and The forest here is full of streams and rocks. During the monsoon it rains really heavy and the whole forest will be misty through out the day. Animals like leopard, chital, Gaur, Malabar giant squirrel can be spotted in this forest. There is a beautiful view point at Bisle. A lot of mountains and forest can be viewed from here.


The ghat starts with the “Boodhi Chavadi Chamundeshwari Amma” temple. The temple is situated next to fresh water stream, with a sole pujari offering his services. It is believed that the traveller need to offer their prayers at this temple before proceeding further for protection from the wild animals.






Places to visit near Bisle Ghat:
Kumara Parvatha: Kumara Parvatha is one of the trekking spot of Karnataka, located near Kukke Subrahmanya Temple.

Kukke Subrahmanya Temple: Kukke Subrahmanya is the richest templeof Karnataka Lord Subrahmanya is worshipped in the form of Serpant here. The temple is famous for Ashlesha bali pooja.

Mallalli Falls : Mallalli Falls is located near to Bisle Ghat. and  situated in the foothills of Pushpagiri , around 28 kms from Bisle Ghat. Mallalli Falls is formed by the Kumaradhara River.


How to reach Bisle Ghat:
By Road: Bisle Ghat is well connected by road network. Since the stretch passes through the reserve forest, we recommend using good condition vehicles. If something goes wrong (vehicle breakdown), you have only two options - use your knowledge to repair the vehicle or wait till someone comes this way. There is no even a single shop or house on the route, even no mobile phone network.
